इंटरनेट सर्च फर्म गूगल (Google) की पेरेंट कंपनी अल्फाबेट इंक (Alphabet Inc) को एक दिन में 100 अरब डॉलर का फटका लगा है। गूगल के नए चैटबॉट ने एक प्रमोशनल वीडियो में गलत जानकारी दी और कंपनी का सारा लांचिंग प्लान चौपट हो गया। एनालिस्ट्स का कहना था कि कंपनी यह समझाने में नाकाम रही कि उसका चैटबॉट प्रतिद्वंद्वी कंपनी माइक्रोसॉफ्ट कॉर्प (Microsoft Corp) के चैटबॉट का कैसे मुकाबला कर पाएगा।

गूगल की एक गलती से इससे निवेशकों में खलबली मच गई। अल्फाबेट के शेयरों में नौ फीसदी तक गिरावट आई और एक झटके में उसका मार्केट कैप 100 अरब डॉलर कम हो गया। कंपनी का मार्केट कैप अब 1.278 ट्रिलियन डॉलर रह गया है। हाल में अमेरिका की एक शॉट सेलिंग कंपनी Hindenburg Research की एक रिपोर्ट के कारण अडानी ग्रुप (Adani Group) की कंपनियों के शेयरों में भारी गिरावट आई थी। दस दिन में ग्रुप का मार्केट कैप 100 अरब डॉलर कम हो गया था। लेकिन अल्फाबेट को अपने चैटबॉट की एक गलती के कारण एक दिन में ही 100 अरब डॉलर का झटका लग गया।

माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के बहुचर्चित चैटबॉट ChatGPT के जवाब में अल्फाबेट ने अपना चैटबॉट Bard लॉन्च किया है। कंपनी ने ट्विटर पर इसका एक शॉर्ट GIF वीडियो पोस्ट किया। लेकिन इसने गलत जानकारी दी। इससे पेरिस में होने वाले इसके लॉन्च इवेंट का गुड़गोबर हो गया। गूगल के चैटबॉट से पूछा गया था कि James Webb Space Telescope ने ऐसा क्या खोजा जो में अपने नौ साल के बच्चे को बता सकूं। इस पर Bard ने कई तरह के जवाब दिए। इसमें एक जवाब यह भी था कि इसके जरिए पहली बार पृथ्वी के सोलर सिस्टम बाहर किसी ग्रह की तस्वीर ली गई। हालांकि गलत जानकारी थी। यह काम सबसे पहले यूरोपियन सदर्न ऑब्जर्वेटरी के Very Large Telescope ने 2004 में किया था। अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी NASA ने इसकी पुष्टि की है।
